Hess Corp. has announced a donation of $50,000 to Farm Rescue to assist in purchasing a tractor to pull a row crop planter.

“For years Farm Rescue has been able to carry out our mission through the use of sponsored machinery, Unfortunately, due to an extended agricultural downturn, those sponsorships are no longer available,” said Farm Rescue Executive Director Tim Sullivan. “Support from great companies like Hess allow us to purchase our own equipment to accommodate the growing number of applications we receive.”

Farm Rescue provides free planting, haying, harvesting commodity-hay transportation and livestock feeding assistance to farm and ranch families who have experienced a major injury, illness or natural disaster. Its mission is to help families continue viable operations during unexpected crises.

“Hess recognizes the tremendous role agriculture plays in every facet of North Dakota life. Family farms are the backbone of this state and if they fail, communities suffer. Hess is proud to put our support behind Farm Rescue, so we may help lift up others during their time of need,” said Hess North Dakota General Manager Brent Lohnes.
