PRESS RELEASE

The North Dakota Uniform County Truck Permit System, Operated by the ND Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties, will be moving to all electronic permits in 2016

At their Executive Committee meeting held on November 24, 2015, the ND Association of Oil and Gas Producing Counties voted to approve the recommendation from the ND Uniform County Truck Permit Committee to discontinue the use of self-issue (paper) permits in 2016. The self-issue permits will continue to be sold through the end of 2015, but will no longer be sold as of January 1, 2016.

The self-issue permits, correctly issued, will be honored as valid permits for over-weight or over-dimension travel on participating county roads through February 29, 2016. As of March 1, 2016 all county truck permits will be required to be obtained electronically at the association's website - ndenergy.org. Any self-issued permits that were used for travel on or before February 29, 2016 will need to be submitted by mail to the ND Uniform County Permit System, as was the procedure before the change.

The ND Uniform County Permit System is a program that is governed by the Executive Board and Uniform County Truck Permit Committee of the ND Association of Oil & Gas Producing Counties. Since the mid-1980's the Permit System has been working to provide services to the member counties and companies operating in the counties. The system provides a single point for companies to obtain permits for over-weight and over-dimension loads that travel on county roads within any of the member counties. The permit system has been in operation for over 30 years.

Counties participating in the ND Uniform County Truck Permit system are: Adams, Billings, Bottineau, Bowman, Burke, Divide, Dunn, Emmons, Golden Valley, Hettinger, McKenzie, McLean, Mountrail, Renville, Slope, Stark, Ward, and Williams.
