Scholarship Application
The Williston Basin chapter of the American Petroleum Institute is a nonprofit organization comprised of service oriented individuals who serve the local oil and gas industry, as well as the surrounding community. The Member Scholarship program was established as a member benefit and to promote member attendance and participation.
- In March of each year, the board will determine the number of scholarships to be awarded based on the financial condition of the chapter.
- If scholarships are to be awarded, the Education and Scholarship Committee and Board will review scholarship applications and determine the scholarship awards to be presented in July of each year for the academic year beginning in the upcoming fall.
Due Date:
April 30, 2024 for the upcoming academic year beginning in the fall.
Awarded:
May 2024 for the upcoming academic year beginning in the fall.
Scholarship:
Minimum $250 – Maximum $750: As determined by the board based on financial status.
Eligibility:
Applicants are eligible if they or an immediate family member is a member of the Williston API Chapter whose dues are paid current and the applicant will be enrolled in an institution of higher education.
Selection Criteria:
The Education and Scholarship Committee, Chapter Officers, and Directors shall review eligible applications and select scholarship awards. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of scholarships determined for the year, preference shall be given to applicants whose Williston API member has demonstrated support of the organization through meeting attendance, committee participation and other support of the organization.
