Construction got underway this week on Highway 23 four miles east of New Town, and at the intersection of Hwy 23 and Hwy 8, six miles east of the city.

This project at the junction of the two highways involves construction of a roundabout, as well as building a temporary bypass that will be used during work on the roundabout. Flaggers and pilot cars will help direct traffic through construction. 

Work on Hwy 23 includes shoulder widening and lighting improvements from mile marker 53 to 56. Flaggers will help direct traffic through construction and a 12-foot width restriction will be in place. The speed limit will be reduced throughout the project and minimum delays are expected.

Both projects are expected to be completed later this fall.
